The war against the United Tomchaka Covens is expected to be a long and bloody one, but necessary for our interests on Relgan.
The past half year has seen heavy fighting on the continent Erdashu, mostly in the southern vassal states that belonged to the UTC for centuries. The UTC’s initial push into the Lwazi Peninsula was ill-advised and easily battered aside by the four legions stationed there. We swiftly counter-invaded, leaving a total 40,000 troops behind to defend the peninsula as its ports are the logistics hub supplying our mighty legions.
Our objective for the campaign is to break the back of the UTC. To do this, the legions spread across Erdashu and are occupying the southern states, defeating their armies and capturing cities and fortresses. This forces the UTC to send field armies in response, which we will crush in turn, slowly exhausting the UTC through attrition. Field Marshall Kiskonski does not currently plan to invade the UTC itself.
The UTC’s goal is, similarly, to funnel resources and druids into the Erdashu states to bleed our legions dry. They knew this war was coming and the Sararit Coven spent years fortifying the continent. In a recent battle on the Satowar Lowlands, the druids demolished a dam and emptied a large reservoir. The water poured down the plains and swept away six villages and a mid-sized town, killing 257 peldaks in the process. They saw this as a favorable exchange.
The UTC seems to have learned an important lesson from the D’Sev Wars and the previous decades of conflict. Our legions aren’t an enemy they can defeat with half measures. The might of our soldiers is famed and terrifying, and they need to be willing to do anything to defeat us.
Though ultimately, their sacrifices will be for nothing.
