The armed forces of the United Chaccarn States have rallied around a young woman named Hipparte and are engaged in a fruitless hit and fade campaign against our occupation forces on the far-eastern continent Seyyeld.
According to our reports she isn’t a military officer and doesn’t even wield a musket, all she’s done is wave a banner and scream morale-boosting slogans to her peers. The banner isn’t that of the UCS, it’s the Protectorate flag with a large red X sewn on.
Our occupation follows a simple strategy. Each of the three legions are split across several dozen facilities, none housing less than a company of peldaks. To keep our control firm, these soldiers go out on patrols, inspecting roads, the countryside, villages and private estates. All the slaves have been freed already and either returned to the wilderness with proper compensation, or they’re allowed to continue working in exchange for fair pay.
Resistance to our occupation, Hipparte’s Campaign as they’re calling it, is admittedly robust.
Each member of the ‘national militia’ is an average person working an average life in the farms or cities. At random intervals they travel into the wilds with their muskets and meet their peers. Picking targets of opportunity, they’ve been ambushing our patrols with nothing less than a 4:1 advantage, typically shooting only a single disciplined volley before scattering, sometimes preparing ambushes as they flee.
Hipparte, her banner, and her high-pitched screech, have been seen in a dozen battlefields across Seyyeld. Some appearances hundreds or thousands of miles away from each other.
We believe Hipparte is only the face of the campaign, and the mastermind is either a military official or a group of them. The D’Sev might be involved to retain a measure of influence on Foregone, but that’s yet to be confirmed.
