The Foregone Stalemate Prisoner Exchange

11/01/147 ASU

The Third D’Sev War’s Foregone Campaign has achieved a five-year stalemate. The Protectorate rules the land of Bordeaux and Enpryys, the Imperium rules the seas, and neither of us can intrude on the enemy’s domain.

After the Imperium’s best attempt to starve us out of Enpryys five years ago, they stopped throwing large amounts of bodies at us, and we believe their firryan auxiliaries were worn out as well. After our disastrous invasion of Ceyydon we didn’t dare try crossing the seas again.

In the meantime, we’ve both worked to advance our own spheres of influence on the planet. Foregone is just far too undeveloped for the large-scale conflicts we’re seeing on Ciratha, Malvi’D, Relgan and Peldor. We both seem to realize that the fate of Foregone will be decided based on how the war proceeds elsewhere, and if Foregone will ever be a relevant battlefront, it will be during a hypothetical Fourth D’Sev War.

One point of negotiation between our spheres was a multi-week diplomatic process where we negotiated a prisoner swap. The D’Sev would allow a limited force to land on Ceyydon and collect the roughly 6,000 peldaks that dispersed into the wilderness following our assault, and we would release all our prisoners of war. 9,316 prisoners who were captured either during the invasions of Enpryys, or the lone agents who tried to infiltrate Foregone City.

It wasn’t overtly stated, but a hidden benefit to the Imperium was that our soldiers would no longer cause havoc on their armies as they tried to expand their rule of Ceyydon.

The exchange was completed without any tricks. Ships docked in our ports to collect their prisoners, and their navy escorted our ships to Ceyydon, with D’Sev officers following our diplomats as we brought our troopers home after five long years.
