When the fourth morning arose on the Kotlis Convention’s stay in the Great Tendor Central Province known as Khagasi, there was a panic. The kotlis Zumee, who had been going out in the middle of the night to hunt rodents for his pregnant mate, Susu, did not return in time for breakfast. His peldak companion instantly knew something had gone terribly wrong and sent the convention staff out to find him. But after a full day of searching, they found no leads to Zumee’s whereabouts. He’s too skilled of a hunter to have gotten injured on his midnight hunt, so the convention suspects kidnapping.
Zumee is a small, 30-pound kotlis with white, fluffy fur, a tail that splits in two at the midway point, large ears that point backwards, and a pink diamond embedded in his forehead. He amassed a beloved following in the convention due to the softness of his fur, and the adorable tantrums he would throw if a visitor didn’t wash their hands in the petting area’s sink prior to touching him.
This matter has reached the Hetman of the 18th Legion, tasked with patrolling the Central Provinces against the instability that wracked Great Tendor during the Founding War, and has sent a brigade of 1,000 warriors to assist the search. The roads will be patrolled, travelers searched, and every last building in Khagasi will be rooted through until Zumee is found.
