Queen Olympia, the ever-radiant star of the Kingdom of Arcas, has perished peacefully in her sleep at the age of 104, and arcadian society has entered a month of mourning.
Born in the year 464, Princess Olympia ascended to the throne at the age of six, after her father was killed by a sharpshooter while leading the Arcadian Detachment in the Ardennes Wars. At 16, she ousted her domineering regents and took full control of the state as a competent and calculating politician.
With a disgust for military matters and a deep interest in the industrialization policies of the Ardennes Dual Monarchy, Queen Olympia bent the kingdom to her will and pushed through thousands of economic reforms, ousted any dogged old noble who stood in her way, and put down at least six coups attempts. In the realm of high society, Queen Olympia was a trend-setter who exported modernized arcadian culture across the Protectorate. Rather than follow her predecessors and start yet more wars to recapture parcels of land from the D’Sev Holy Imperium, she decided the take on the peldaks and firmly establish Arcadia as a cultural and economic hub within the Peldak Protectorate. With her victories far outweighing her defeats, it is no wonder why the previous century was known as the Olympian Peace. It may have been the peldaks who created and enforced the age of stability, but it was Queen Olympia who capitalized on it and thrived.
Considered by many to be the second founder of the arcadian people, she is survived by her 11 children, 36 grandchildren, 84 great-grandchildren, and over 200 great-great-grandchildren.
