The Great Forest of Dubawin is really just the Great Dubawin Tree. One single organism whose root network stretches for miles in all directions and branches upwards into hundreds of thousands of trees, creating the illusion of a forest. Some of those roots, over the eons, have risen from the ground, taking large clumps of earth into the air, creating the Floating Islands of Dubawin.

To the inhabitants of Dubawin, the tree was a gift from heaven, and they’ll go to great lengths to protect it from outsiders. Some outsiders are malicious, others are just well meaning and don’t know the trouble they can cause. Either way, all threats to the forest must be dealt with.
