The state of Andalusia has collapsed under the weight of our forces – which had to be diverted from the vampire front to deal with this pointless rebellion.
The capital city of Monterry is in ruins after 17 days of stiff resistance. The Andalusian army was decisively crushed across six notable battles, resulting in well over 180,000 casualties. Their chief diplomats and politicians were captured in a set of daring raids, and Queen Luna II was killed in the fighting.
Because the Reconstituted Leonid Union declared independence eight months ago, they aren’t subject to the Protectorate Charter and we’re going to reform them as we see fit.
The RLU is gone and isn’t coming back in any form.
We aren’t going to execute every surviving member of the leonid imperial family, but they’ve caused us enough headaches, and that family isn’t returning to power. Andalusia itself will be broken into three legally separate states – which will retain their leonid majorities, but will be forbidden from unifying, and military bases will be set up along the borders. Furthermore, most leonid states in the RLU lie outside the safe zones we’re setting up, and when the vampire threat is over there will be restrictions on which lands they can resettle.
That being said, ethnic leonese refugees will not be turned away from the safe zones. Their union must face the consequences of siding with vampires, but we won’t abandon the average cabella.
The leonid are fools. They’ve consistently resisted the Protectorate, operating under the assumption our downfall was coming any day. They had the chance to prove their loyalty and reap the benefits, to call in a thousand favors once the vampires we destroyed the vampires, but they threw their opportunity away.
We’re going to make sure they regret it for centuries.
