The shame and humiliation of being unable to defeat the vampiric tide on our own has left the peldak legions with no choice but to engage in a fighting retreat. As we fight, and bleed, and die against the ghoulish hordes, hundreds of millions of cabella will have time to evacuate behind defensive lines we’re currently working to prepare.
The vampires may be winning – for the moment – but they can’t advance fast enough, and the safe zones will be secured long before we need them.
Our designated safe zones require three criteria. They’re on the coast, they’re well developed, and they must have beneficial geography.
On Medalma, the strongest leonid state, Andalusia, was chosen to be the fallback point. Quick access to the sea, wide rivers functioning as natural barriers, and sector-renowned industry.
As a member state of the Protectorate, we called upon them to perform their obligations during the worst crisis the interstellar-Protectorate has ever seen. All they needed to do was accommodate our logistics and temporarily house a few million refugees. Once the crisis was over, these refugees would be resettled around the planet. Other leonid states must be temporarily evacuated too, and we have every intention of rewarding loyal allies.
But the RLU responded by stabbing us in the back.
The decried our operation to save lives as tyrannical, unilaterally seceded from the ‘crumbling ship’ of the Peldak Protectorate, and moved their forces to attack and disrupt our engineers that were working to create defenses that would protect their land.
If the RLU refuses to provide the bare minimum to destroy the vampires, then the only conclusion we can draw is that the leaders of the RLU have been enthralled to the vampire’s will. They’ll be destroyed like the puppets they are.
