The ultimatum of Sir Kornel Kiskorski came on the third day, and he ordered 20,000 warriors of the 18th legion to storm the city of Khagasi.
While the citizens and opposing soldiers had the option to freely abandon the city, not many did. The Tendori Emperor rallied his people in the face of ‘foreign aggression’, and even the lower castes showed their loyalty to Great Tendor. But the emperor was mistaken if he thought it would make a difference.
During the Founding War, Great Tendor saw repeated success against our scattered warbands, dealing blow after blow to our numbers and morale. While it didn’t stop us from winning the war, it took years longer than it should have. In this conflict, two divisions of a peldak legion working in unison was all that was needed to break into the city, penetrate the Khagasi estate, and capture the Khagasi noble family.
Interrogations provided the name of the butcher who killed Zumee, and he was collected shortly after. The Prince, Princess, and butcher were given a quick trial before summary execution via hanging off the walls of the Khagasi estate. The Khagasi children were escorted towards the emperor’s forces and handed off.
Once our objectives were completed, the detachment of peldaks pulled away from the city and settled in prepared fortification on a nearby hill. 300 peldaks were lost, and no less than 7,000 tendori combatants perished.
Elsewhere on Tendor, the 16th, 17th, and the rest of the 18th legion are prepared to face a wave of unrest. It remains to be seen if the unrest will be against a seemingly weak emperor, or if the emperor will lead Great Tendor in an anti-Protectorate revolt. In accordance with the Protectorate Charter, both would swiftly be put down.
