The Zenith Period

The Zenith Period lasted from 850 to 888, and featured the Peldak Protectorate at their relative peak. Throughout all of known space, all enemies had been crushed and annexed into the Protectorate. Crime was down, there wasn’t a single major conflict, the unemployment rate was low, new technologies from the recently annexed ayonas began to spread throughout the 54 worlds of the Protectorate.

This age of peace would come to an abrupt end in the year 888, when the monstrously powerful Gurant Empire invaded, and plunged the Protectorate into 140 years of constant warfare.

The stories here provide context for the subsequent Gurant War. The happiness of those who lived during the Zenith Period was stolen by the tyranny of the Gurant Empire, but that happiness could be restored if the Protectorate wins. The soldiers of the Protectorate resist the gurant’s invasion with all their might, spurred on by the hope of achieving a second, grander, longer lasting Zenith Period for them and their children.
