With the growing consolidation of the Hayato Empire, representatives from the exiled Great Issei Colonies traveled to Monsoo to meet in the current capitol of the Axis Powers.
Within the halls of the Axis Diplomacy Institute, the 17 issei colonies negotiated the creation of the Takamagahara League, linking their militaries and foreign policy with the ambition of destroying the Hayato Empire. The name derives from the celestial plain in the issei religion and is a direct challenge to the legitimacy of the Hayato Empire, whose royal family is descendant of the Sun Goddess who rules the stars.
The strongest of the Great Colonies are Arasuka, Ashataria, Osuraria, Waaca, Hotaka.
The Axis courting all but one major issei colony is nothing short of a humiliation for the Protectorate.
Together, the Great Colonies’ population is 21 million, most of them exiles from the Hayato conquests, with the remaining colonies bringing the population to 24 million. Not every clan wants an alliance with foreign powers or thinks war against Hayato and the greater Protectorate would be worthwhile, but reports say D’Sev agents are suppressing dissent.
The Hayato Empire controls about 40% of Tsuchi and has a population of nearly 150 million. Now that internal divisions have been crushed, the empire is growing stronger by the day.
The Taka League will be unable to retake their lands without assistance from the Axis Powers, and through this partnership the Axis have a proxy to invade Isseio Prime and Isseio Alpha without sparking a war with the Protectorate. The League are already making plans to return to Tsuchi and Daichi’s unclaimed region, selling themselves as mercenaries and making alliances to build their own power bloc before Hayato can consolidate.
But Takamagahara has no real industry or even state. What power they have comes from the Axis.
