An Interview With The Wonders Of The Cosmos Author

Wonders Of The Cosmos has been an extremely successful novel that has even found an audience among aliens.

The find the source of this success, I spoke with the elf himself, Sebastian Szarek.

“Faebeasts were long gone by the time I was born, but my parents never had to deal with humans. I grew up in a military base on Asean, I spoke the language, understood the culture, learned to love the ocean, and I had all these friends as a child that… they died of old age before I became an adult. Humans would get sick and die, or move away, and when it came time for my compulsory service, it was just 20 years, but when I came home to Asean all my friends were gone. Some got jobs in distant ports, a girl I had a crush on had three kids of her own, I missed it all. I heard humans had limited lifespans, but… I don’t think anyone really understood what that meant. Nowadays half my time is spent going around Asean, keeping up with all my friends and spending as much time together as possible. I was even a Marshal’s Deputy for a century or two. People came in and out like a revolving door, and I tried to get to know everyone since I, as the peldak, was the muscle on all our assignments. I had a buddy who joined to catch this one specific criminal he had history with, and when we learned that the perp was active on another planet, he transferred out. Never saw him again. But uh, this transience was the big inspiration for the Pioneer crew. Friends, companions, lovers, they’ll come in and out of our lives but I think what’s important is that they happened, and they mattered.”
