Marshal Ionnes Birides’ inflammatory comments announcing an imminent crackdown of sharad criminals saw vast success over the past several nights. The Marshals and Arcadian Security had a list of the most successful sharad in the arcadian underworld, and when those criminals heard Marshal Birides’ statement and decided to relocate, they were beset by teams of prepared Hunters.
The previous comment about the sharad embassy loaning a ‘team’ of Hunter Castes was an understatement. The Kharak Confederation values their partnership with Arcadia highly, and sent multiple teams, around 500 Hunters.
When Hunter teams sensed sharad movement they worked with perfect coordination to surround and capture each fugitive.
I accompanied one of the teams, and there was nothing so glamorous as an action-packed chase across the city. The Hunters suddenly vanished mid-conversation, then reappeared 20 minutes later with two criminals in tow.
The operation saw the capture of 7 Hunters, 11 Couriers, 32 Harvesters, and 98 Famers.
The Farmers will be given proper identification and released. Their fingers aren’t nimble enough for the Starlight Crown heist, and their crime is usually just sneaking into farms or gardens and caring for plants.
The criminal Hunters will be investigated for their crimes, as they typically find employment as hitmen or gang enforcers.
The Couriers will be interrogated for their connection to organized crime.
The Harvesters are the real suspects for the Starlight Crown’s theft. They range from 3’6-4’6 tall, have the skills to steal a belt from around a person’s waist without them noticing, and their entire subrace was bred for a thousand generations to have ingrained kleptomainia.
The Harvesters’ nature is so innate that, according to most local laws, a Harvester returning a stolen item and apologizing faces a maximum sentence of one hour of community service per day they kept the item.
