The Great Expedition officially ended last month on 08/01/346 ASU with the signing of the ‘Treaty Of Masterial Incorporation’ between the Lord Protector and the Slavani Freehold. The 14 Slavani Worlds are now a client state of the Peldak Protectorate.

This would come as a shock to many as the war basically ended with the bombing of their capital six years ago; there haven’t been any notable engagements since. The provisions of the treaty were a dictate imposed by our victorious troops, with only one word changed between the original draft and the final version.

The delay was because the Slavani were embroiled in a brutal civil war. It was called the 16th Holy Schism, or the War of Name-mancy, or the 84th Major Heretic Beat Down, or Master’s Divine Call For Justice And Resistance To Imposed Heretical Ethics Towards His Magisterial Dominion.

The Slavani are extremely religious. Every action revolves around their ‘god’, a being they call ‘Master’. They believe this Master was born eons ago as a mortal woman, she created the Slavani and rose to godhood where she now guides, protects, and owns every Slavani. They believe she reincarnated into the mortal realm three times so she could lead her people directly. Her second and third incarnations were women, but her fourth and final incarnation was a man.

They butchered each other for six years because they couldn’t agree which pronouns to use in the treaty. Is ‘her’ dominion now a client state of the Protectorate because Master was originally born a woman, or is it ‘his’ dominion because the latest incarnation was male?

Ultimately, the ‘hers’ won. This allowed the Slavani representatives to sign the treaty and officially end the war 19 years after it began.
