Queen Olympia’s choice of fashion stunned partygoers at the Kingdom of Arcas’s Liberation Day Gala. A dazzling, gemstone-studded blue dress that hugged her figure, with elbow-length gloves and a shockingly deep v-neck that framed her necklace made with broken white chains. She spent most of the gala on her throne, letting the spotlight hit the gemstones and sparkle in the Kingdom’s colors of blue, green, and gold.
Hardline conservatives were forced by the patriotic symbolism to approach her throne, kneel, and kiss her regal silver bracelet. Her supporters eagerly swarmed her in those rare moments she left the throne to mingle.
Despite her monopoly of everyone’s gaze, the Lord Protector’s wife, Lady Zenobia Garbarska, couldn’t help herself from opening a new round of hostility with Arcadia’s queen.
Attacking when Queen Olympia was off her throne, Lady Zenobia reportedly approached with a wine glass and a fake, noble-like smile. “That’s an incredible choice of dress, my dear. Sadly, none of the ladies I associate with possess the courage to wear something so… bold.”
Queen Olympia responded with a plastered smile of her own, “if you have it, you want to flaunt it. Peldaks wear the pelts of dangerous beasts they’ve slain, but we arcadians have something a little different to display.” Officially, she ‘displayed’ the broken chain necklace, symbolizing arcadian freedom from D’Sev rule nearly 400 years ago. Leaving no room to doubt her true meaning, however, Queen Olympia lowered her eyes to Lady Zenobia’s chest, failed to cover her smirk, then quickly turned away.
Pure reflex caused Lady Zenobia to shatter the glass in her fist, and her entourage spent the rest of the night picking shards out of her hand.
This was most likely revenge for Lady Zenobia’s behavior during Olympia’s last gala half a year ago.
